Wild Mignonette is a
native
biennial plant of the UK, typically found growing in chalk grassland and waste ground, to a mature height of up to 80cm.
The name Mignonette comes from the French for 'dainty', referring to the plant's delicate, small scented flowers.
Botanic classification and naming: Wild Mignonette is a member of the Mignonette (Resedaceae) family. The genus name
'Reseda' identifies the plant as a Mignonette and its species name 'lutea' means 'yellow'.
