Wild Chicory is a native perennial plant of the UK, typically found growing in grassland and field margins, to a mature height of up to 125cm.

Wild Chicory is the genetic 'wild type' of the cultivated variety of root chicory grown to roast and grind into a coffee substitute or additive.

Botanic classification and naming: Wild Chicory is a member of the Daisy (Asteraceae) family. The genus name 'Cichorium' identifies the plant as a Chicory and its species name 'intybus' means 'chicory plant'.
