Eyebright is a native annual plant of the UK, typically found growing in grassland and heath, to a mature height of up to 25cm.

Eyebright is named after its use in traditional herbal medicine to treat eye infections.

Botanic classification and naming: Eyebright is a member of the Broomrape (Orobanchaceae) family. The genus name 'Euphrasia' identifies the plant as a Eyebright and its species name 'officinalis' means 'herbal medicinal plant'.

Benefits: Eyebright is semi-parasitic on grasses and can help keep grasses under control, maintaining species diversity.
