Wild Cabbage is a native biennial plant of the UK, typically found growing in coastal grasslands, rocky areas and waste ground, to a mature height of up to 150cm.

Wild Cabbage is the genetic 'wild type' of cultivated varieties grown to produce the leafy vegetable known as 'cabbage'.

Botanic classification and naming: Wild Cabbage is a member of the Cabbage (Brassicaceae) family. The genus name 'Brassica' identifies the plant as a Mustard and its species name 'oleracea' means 'vegetable plant'.
