Ragged-Robin is a
native
perennial plant of the UK, typically found growing in grassland, meadow and wetland, to a mature height of up to 80cm.
Ragged Robin is a Campion, and as suggested by the name, it has flowers with finely divided petals, giving them a ruffled and 'ragged' appearance.
Botanic classification and naming: Ragged-Robin is a member of the Carnation (Caryophyllaceae) family. The genus name
'Silene' identifies the plant as a Campion and its species name 'flos-cuculi' means 'cuckoo flower '.
