Ragged-Robin is a native perennial plant of the UK, typically found growing in grassland, meadow and wetland, to a mature height of up to 80cm.

Ragged Robin is a Campion, and as suggested by the name, it has flowers with finely divided petals, giving them a ruffled and 'ragged' appearance.

Botanic classification and naming: Ragged-Robin is a member of the Carnation (Caryophyllaceae) family. The genus name 'Silene' identifies the plant as a Campion and its species name 'flos-cuculi' means 'cuckoo flower '.

Benefits: The nectar attracts Honey bees, Bumble bees and butterflies.

Benefits to wildlife are also indicated with orange icons in the plant profile bar at the top.
